Beer drinkers will be hopping for joy when new Reigate bar opens this spring

There is great news for beer drinkers in Reigate, as a new specialist craft beer bar will open this spring at the site where La Lanterna used to be on Bell Street.

Reigate is fast cementing itself as a go-to destination for beer lovers, and the new bar called Hop Stop will be the third specialist beer venue to open in the town within the last two years.

Hop Stop, which already has a shop in Oxted has finally won permission from the council to branch out with a bar.

Its co-owner Mike Ladyman believes the new venue will have something for everyone whether it’s a traditional bitter or a trendy tipple and the bar will offer an element of takeaway as well as in house drinking with a range of beer available on keg and cask.

The owners are hoping for Hop Stop to become a nice comfortable place where anyone feels welcome to come and have a beer. There will be a wide range of ales and beers available with a small food menu to help complement the beer.

For those of you who aren’t big beer, fans don’t worry, it won’t just be beer on sale; there will also be cider, gin, wine and soft drinks. The bar has permission to open seven days a week, closing at 6 pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays, and 11 pm on all other nights.
