England set for European Championships prep

Over the last few weeks, all the talk in football has been about the potential impact the Coronavirus outbreak could have on the remainder of the season including this summer’s European Championships.

There has been talk of playing matches behind closed doors or even postponing the whole tournament.

With all the focus on what will happen in the summer, some of us may have missed the draw for the next Nations League taking place this week.

The first group games take place in September this year, with the finals scheduled for the summer.

England have been drawn in Group 2 of League A alongside two former foes from past major tournaments in Belgium and Iceland, as well as their upcoming opponents this month Denmark.

Gareth Southgate will be looking at this upcoming game against the Danes as an opportunity to get some scouting in ahead of the Nations League as well as a final opportunity to take a look at some players ahead of the Euros.

One player that is expected to feature prominently is Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish whose performances have led to widespread calls from football fans for a chance to impress on the international scene.

As well as the Denmark game, England will take on a rejuvenated Italian side in what is considered a fantastic test ahead of the European Championships.

Tickets are still available for both games and more information can be found at https://ticketing.thefa.com/
