The Premiership draws to a close with a battle for rugby’s ultimate prize

The rugby Premiership season is drawing to an end, and after 134 fantastic rugby matches, just one game remains – The Gallagher Premiership Rugby Final.

After some box office, semi-final action Saracens and Exeter Chiefs secured their places in the final after demolishing Gloucester 44-19 and Northampton Saints 42-12.

The final will be the latest chapter in a fascinating rivalry that has developed between the two sides in recent years, which sees the two sides face off for rugby’s ultimate prize for the third time.

Saracens have picked up the win on both occasions, including in last year’s final and Exeter will be desperately hoping that its third time lucky as they bid for their second title having won it in 2016-17.

Unfortunately for them, they are running into a Saracens team, which has had a near perfect season to date, picking up the Champions Cup, Premiership Rugby Shield and Premiership Rugby 7s titles already this year.

It’s one win apiece for each outfit across their two clashes so far this season. The Chiefs stunned Saracens at Sandy Park in a festive cracker, running in a quartet of scores to run out 31-13 winners over their rivals. The reigning champions weren’t to be outdone, as they toppled the Chiefs 38-7 in the return fixture at Allianz Park.

The game itself takes place at the home of rugby, Twickenham on Saturday 1 June, kicking off at 3 pm. There are still a limited number of tickets available, which can be picked up from https://www.premiershiprugby.com/register-your-interest-in-the-final/ or alternatively you can catch every second as the drama unfolds on BT Sport.
