Where to go in Surrey this Easter with the kids

The Easter holidays are the perfect time to enjoy family days out and there are plenty of events across Surrey to keep your children entertained.

From farm visits to National Trust Easter egg hunts, there are lots of ways to make the most of the school break.

Farm visits for Springtime

Spring is lambing season and makes Easter one of the best times of year to visit your local farm and meet the newest arrivals.

A firm favourite for families is Bocketts Farm Park in Fetcham, where your children can see newborn lambs, chicks, bunnies and other adorable animals up close.

Running from 28 March to 12 April 2026, the farm offers a range of Easter-themed activities, including:

  • Meeting the Easter bunny
  • Completing the Easter trail around the farm
  • Easter craft activities
  • Live shows in the Easter Garden
  • Indoor and outdoor play areas

This family day out is especially perfect for toddlers and younger children and will keep them entertained all day.

Easter egg hunts at Surrey’s historic estates

Surrey is home to some historic houses and gardens and many of them host Easter trails each year.

A popular choice with families is the Easter trail at Polesden Lacey, running from 21 March to 14 April 2026.

Families can follow an interactive trail around the grounds and children can run wild in the natural play area with tunnels, swings and giant bird’s nest structures.

At Hatchlands Park, families can enjoy a Spring-themed trail with games and challenges dotted around the parkland.

Another fantastic option is the circus-themed trail at Claremont Landscape Garden in Esher, from 21 March to 12 April 2026.

Children can search for circus characters hidden throughout the gardens and each trail comes with a special treat of bunny ears and a chocolate egg prize at the end.

Outdoor adventures and woodland fun

If your family enjoys getting out into nature, Alice Holt Forest near Farnham offers a full day of outdoor adventure fun.

The forest is known for its walking and cycling trails, fun play areas and Gruffalo sculptures hidden along the paths.

The forest is also home to Go Ape Alice Holt, where older children can take on high rope courses and tree-top adventures.

Easter fun at Hampton Court Palace

Families can enjoy some Easter activities with the stunning backdrop of Hampton Court Palace.

The Gold Bunny Hunt, from 21 March to 12 April 2026, invites children to explore the palace gardens in search of the hidden golden bunny statues.

Along the way they’ll learn about fascinating historic characters before collecting a chocolate reward at the end.

The Hampton Court Palace Funfair will also take place from 1 to 6 April 2026 and bring classic rides, games and food stalls to the grounds.

It is a fun-filled day out that young children, teenagers and parents will all enjoy.
