The 2023 Wimbledon Championships are nearly upon us, with the first round of matches set to begin on Monday 3 July.
As always, the focus will be on British success at the All England Club. In the men’s tournament, Andy Murray will hope to roll back the years and reach another Wimbledon final. British number one Cameron Norrie will have high expectations with a home crowd backing him. Norrie is currently ranked 13 in the world and will still have the 2022 run to the semi-finals fresh in his memory.
The man to beat, however, will be the great Novak Djokovic, the current world number one and reigning Wimbledon champion. Djokovic will undoubtedly face stiff competition from young up-and-comer, Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard is the current US Open champion and at just 20 years of age, is tipped for big things.
In the women’s tournament, French Open champion Iga Swiatek and reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina are joint favourites for the crown, although there will be challenges from the likes of American Coco Gauff and last year’s runner-up, Ons Jabeur.
British interest in the women’s tournament rests on British number one Katie Boulter, who will be looking to go better than last year when she made the third round. 20-year-old sensation Emma Raducanu should also feature, hoping to add Wimbledon glory to her 2021 US Open success.
No stopping or parking is permitted on any of the roads around the All England Club during the Championships, so if you are attending Wimbledon then please contact us to arrange a taxi drop-off or our executive travel service.
