As we enter October, it won’t be long until we arrive at Halloween, the clocks go back, and then before anyone has had time to throw the pumpkins away, bonfire night will be upon us.
With these celebrations nearing, here are some of the best firework displays to visit in Surrey.
Ripley bonfire
The legendary Ripley bonfire is a highly anticipated event, drawing up to 12,000 attendees on the Saturday 29th October. Beyond the mesmerising bonfire and firework display, the event features an expansive funfair, food stalls, and a bar with live music, offering a perfect vantage point for the festivities.
The event is community-funded, with proceeds benefiting the Ripley Over 60s Club and other local organisations. Historically, the bonfire was built near a pond, but now it’s constructed in an area known as Pond Dip, providing an excellent amphitheatre-like setting for spectators.
Farnham fireworks and torchlit procession
The Farnham Fireworks & Torchlit Procession, organised by Farnham Round Table, is an annual spectacle set for Saturday 4 November. The event kicks off at Waggon Yard car park, where attendees can buy flaming torches to carry in a procession led by the Reading Pipers Band, the Mayor of Farnham, and the chairman of Farnham Round Table.
The procession culminates at Farnham Park, which opens at 5pm and features a Food Village, various stalls, and live entertainment. Highlights include a massive bonfire, a ‘guy’ competition from local schools, and a dazzling firework display. Tickets and torches are available exclusively online.
Kempton Park fireworks
Mark your calendars for Kempton Park’s annual fireworks extravaganza on Saturday 4th November. Hosted by Heart FM’s Toby Anstis, the evening promises a lively atmosphere with a Club Classics DJ set.
Gates open at 5pm, with the fireworks display set to launch at 7:30pm. To keep the crowd entertained, a funfair and various food and drink concessions will be available, accepting both cash and card payments.
Please be aware that attendees cannot bring their own food, drink, or sparklers, and bag searches will be in place. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Arrive early to avoid queues!
Morden Park musical fireworks
Don’t miss the musical fireworks display at Morden Park, London, on Sunday 5th November. This year features two unique shows: an early performance with a ‘Magic’ theme aimed at families and younger children, and a later show celebrating ‘One Hit Wonders’ from past decades.
Alongside the pyrotechnic spectacle, enjoy a variety of culinary delights at the street food village and have fun at the on-site funfair. Whether you’re a fan of magical melodies or nostalgic hits, there’s something for everyone at this much-anticipated annual event.
Richmond fireworks
This year’s Richmond fireworks event on Sunday 5th November promises a royal treat with a ‘Monarchy’-themed fireworks show, set to music and designed for all ages. Gates open at 4:30pm, featuring a funfair, various stalls, and a ‘Happy Hour’ at Richmond Athletic Ground’s bars.
From 5:45pm, enjoy live entertainment from local charity Basement Door and dance companies Studio K and Resolution Dance. Indulge in a wide range of food and drink options, from hot dogs to mulled wine. The main fireworks spectacle starts at 7:00pm, offering a night of family fun and dazzling visuals.
